About Us

Advertising Association of Nepal (AAN) is the umbrella organization of advertising agencies in Nepal. Registered in 1990 under the Non-governmental Organization Registration Act, it was initially called the Advertising Agencies Association of Nepal. It emerged into its present set-up with the current name in 2006 following an amendment in the constitution. In addition to advertising agencies, it also coordinates with other related media organisations to promote professionalism in the advertising sector of Nepal.

AAN is also represented in other professional organisations such as the Audit Bureau of Circulation of the Press Council Nepal and Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC). AAN is also a regular member of the Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA).

OUR MISSION

To upgrade the standards, ethics and practices of the advertising profession so as to provide a meaningful contribution to the regional and national socio-economic development of Nepal.

OUR OBJECTIVES

• To protect the rights and interests of advertising agencies, professionals and the stakeholders involved in the advertising sector. • To coordinate between and maintain harmonious relations among the various ad professionals, agencies, media houses and other stakeholders. • To maintain cordial relations between the advertising agencies and the media houses of Nepal. • To uplift the nation’s economy through advertisement. • To establish and operate a training institute with the objective of imparting skills and knowledge about the advertisement business.

Advertising is the reflection of economy. Advertising Association of Nepal, AAN has established on 1990 by advertising entrepreneur to aim of raising collective voice of advertising agencies and their business. As per time spirit, the role of advertising is expanded. AAN has initiated Crity Awards in year 2003, considering advertising creativities, innovation and newness. 

Education and Training Workshops: Organize workshops and seminars to educate advertising professionals about Nepalese advertising laws, acts, and industry codes. Provide training on ethical advertising practices, responsible business conduct, and compliance requirements.

Code of Conduct Enforcement: Establish a code of conduct for advertising professionals to ensure industry discipline and responsible business practices. Monitor adherence to the code through self-regulatory mechanisms and disciplinary actions for violations.

Policy Advocacy and Lobbying: Advocate for policies that promote industry development and innovation while ensuring compliance with Nepalese advertising laws and regulations. Lobby government agencies and policymakers to create a conducive environment for advertising growth.

Industry Networking Events: Host networking events and conferences to bring together advertising professionals, industry stakeholders, and policymakers. Provide opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing, and collaboration on new ideas and innovations in advertising.

Legal Assistance and Compliance Support: Offer legal assistance and compliance support to advertising agencies and professionals to navigate Nepalese advertising laws and regulations. Provide resources, guidelines, and consultation services to ensure adherence to industry standards.

Recognition and Awards: Recognize advertising campaigns and professionals that demonstrate creativity, innovation, and adherence to industry codes and regulations. Organize award ceremonies to celebrate achievements and inspire excellence in the industry.

By implementing these initiatives, the advertising community association can support industry growth while ensuring compliance with Nepalese laws and regulations, fostering responsible business conduct, and promoting innovation and creativity in advertising.
